EmTech Asia, the region's most influential conference on emerging technologies that matter, is only three weeks away. Take this opportunity to call on your colleagues; discover the latest groundbreaking technologies and be inspired by industry leaders from companies such as Google, DeepMind, Toyota Research Institute, Intel, Microsoft Research and more.

AI and the Future of Warfare

AI warfare is beginning to dominate military strategy in the US and China, but is the technology ready?

A study conducted at MIT was able to demonstrate the power of adversarial machine learning. Using adversarial algorithmic camouflage, AI-guided missiles could be blinded by adversarial data, and perhaps even steered back toward friendly targets.

Featuring speakers Toby Walsh and Brendan McCord, AI and Ethics will be thoroughly covered at EmTech Asia as they address different aspects of the controversial topic.

People working to solve the world's most pressing problems

The quest to beat plastic pollution is on.

26 Jun 2019 - From banning plastic straws to cleaning up the oceans, never has the public discourse on sustainability been so alive.

Last January, EmTech Asia decided to feature Prof John McGeehan and his team’s research on stage. Prof McGeehan had developed a plastic-eating enzyme.

Yes, you read that right. The discovery could result in a recycling solution for millions of tonnes of plastic bottles made of PET, which currently persists for hundreds of years in the environment

As you can imagine, we were ecstatic to hear that the University of Portsmouth’s Centre for Enzyme Innovation (CEI) – led by Prof McGeehan and his team – was recently awarded a £5.8 million grant to speed up progress towards improving the enzyme even further and allow it to be used industrially to break down plastics in a fraction of the time.

Prof McGeehan and his ground-breaking technology are one of the many outstanding presentations at EmTech Asia that have inspired and continued to make a difference across the globe.

If your organisation is keen to be part of shaping the global technology agenda solving the World's intractable problems – EmTech Asia is the perfect platform to explore partnership options complementing your business objectives towards an even greater cause.

Innovators Under 35 is the most prestigious recognition worldwide from MIT Technology Review. Since 1999, MIT Technology Review has honoured the young innovators whose inventions and research we find most exciting. Innovators Under 35 is a list of technologists and scientists, all under the age of 35, whose work is changing our world. The list recognises the development of new technology or the creative application of existing technologies to solve global problems in all industries.

Innovators Under 35 Asia Pacific honours the best 20 young talents from the region. The 20 selected innovators will be celebrated at MIT Technology Review’s EmTech Asia on 25 – 26 February 2020, gaining unparalleled media coverage and access to an audience of accomplished innovators, investors and entrepreneurs.

Since being part of Innovators Under 35, the profile of our company has increased and much trust and interest has been forged by being associated with this prestigious award. I would strongly encourage anyone working on new technologies in either an academic or a commercial environment to submit your nomination, as you never know how exciting and amazing other groups may find your research, and how it fits in with a global community.” - Jonathan Hall, Cofounder and Director of Life Whisperer, Presagen, and Innovators Under 35 Asia Pacific 2019 honouree.

26 Mar 2019 - Whether you were there – mouth wide open in awe – or not, we thought of giving you a chance to re-live the best moments from the last edition of EmTech Asia.

Our team has put together a short video with the best moments from the event:

As John McGeehan, Director of the Institute of Biological and Biomedical Sciences at University of Portsmouth puts it:

EmTech Asia is a highly inspiring event that collects an exciting and eclectic mix of innovators, scientists and entrepreneurs into an amazing setting. The combination of the open discussion-led meeting format and location is highly productive. Singapore is a hotbed for investment, and I enjoyed several days meeting with companies and organizations as a direct result of introductions made during the conference.”

“The calibre of the talks was just amazing - I was hooked on from the beginning to the end of every talk, which is definitely rare of large conferences.
